Why a Complicated Concrete Pumping System Must Be Set up Correctly

Blog

Australian cities and towns tend to be relatively cramped and highly developed, with little room for new building work. However, a valuable site may become available in the middle of one of these areas and the investors may want to erect a multistorey commercial building within. While this is certainly possible, it does present some additional obstacles and especially when it comes to the delivery of building materials like concrete. Even though equipment and solutions are available in this type of situation, it's very important to understand the scale of the challenge itself. So, what do you need to know about the method and necessary safety measures?

Full Attention

In most cases, equipment and materials will need to be moved from a remote delivery spot to the actual building site itself. After all, it may not be possible to manoeuvre a vehicle in close proximity and this part of the operation will require some special attention.

Origination

When it comes to the all-important concrete, the first thing to consider is the hopper that will receive the mixture from the delivery vehicles. This will need to be placed in an area that can be fully secured and must have a protective grill and doors fitted so that people cannot come into contact with any moving machinery. Within the hopper will be the pump, valve gear and pistons. Together with mixer paddles, they help keep the solution moving while it enters the delivery pipes.

Distribution

Next, will be the network of delivery lines and pipes, made from rubber or steel, which will convey the concrete from the arrival point to the worksite. These will very rarely be straight and will need various bends and coupling connectors to traverse the distance. In this case, it's very important that these pipelines are all installed correctly so that they are capable of resisting the considerable pressure that will be generated by the concrete pump.

Delivery

At the worksite itself will be a placing boom and a flexible hose that will be used by skilled operators to receive the concrete and direct it to the perfect location. Once again, this must be carefully installed so that it is stable, secure and safe. This way, everyone on the worksite can do their appropriate job with the maximum amount of efficiency.

Careful Preparation

If everything is set up as it should be and with due deference to safety as well as deliverability, then the job can be completed on time and with a good track record. Nevertheless, it's crucial for any developer to work with an experienced concrete contractor so that they can take responsibility for the installation and be an active part of the team.

Decorative Concrete: Project Ideas and Uses

Concrete may seem boring to the uninitiated, but as the wife of a concrete contractor, I have learned, over the years, that it is anything but boring. Contemporary concrete can be used in a range of applications from functional sound walls to decorative koi ponds, and it can be left gray, stamped or acid stained. If you are getting ready to do a project, you have come to the right place. In this blog, I am going to post a myriad of information about concrete with an emphasis on project ideas and the different uses of concrete. By the end, I hope you find concrete as exciting as I do!
